Dr. Smith is phenomenal, having her as a leader and mentor has been an incredible experience that has promoted growth and transformation. She leads with empathy and always ensures every team member feels valued and heard. I’ve seen her face many challenges; through transparent communication and careful decision making she kept the team aligned and confident. Her mentorship allowed me to identify my strengths. Instead of just giving answers, she posed insightful questions that forced me to reflect and build a clear plan in my professional and personal life. As a result of Dr. Smith’s leadership, I become a much more confident and effective leader. Her mentorship program should be a staple for organizations around the world.

For over 30 years, I’ve had the honor of knowing Alisha—since our earliest days together in the Air Force. Even back in the dorms, her leadership was unmistakable. She was the one who ensured everyone and everything was taken care of, long before she ever held a formal title. That natural ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and decisiveness propelled her quickly through the officer ranks.
Alisha has never met a stranger, and because of that, her network is vast and deeply rooted. She uses it not for personal gain, but to uplift, connect, and open doors for others. Throughout her 20+ year military career, Dr. Smith has mentored hundreds of service members—enlisted, officers, and civilians alike. Her guidance has shaped careers, restored confidence, and expanded possibilities for countless people.
Despite rising to the highest levels as a Retired Colonel, earning her PhD, contributing as an author, serving in organizations such as The Links, Incorporated, and now leading as VP, she has never wavered in her commitment to people. Alisha remains grounded, authentic, and refreshingly no‑nonsense. Her ability to inspire comes from keeping it real—keeping it “where the goats can get it”—and that’s exactly why she continues to impact thousands with her leadership and mentorship.

I had the distinct privilege of serving as Dr. Alisha Smith’s Senior Enlisted Leader while she commanded the Spangdahlem Air Base Medical Group, USAFE, from 2018 to 2020. During my 28-year Air Force career, I served alongside many exceptional commanders, and I can say without hesitation that Dr. Smith is among the finest leaders I have ever known.
Dr. Smith leads with authenticity, strategic vision, integrity, and genuine care for people. Whether mentoring leaders, guiding teams through crisis, or speaking to large audiences, she has an extraordinary ability to connect with people, inspire confidence, and motivate others to become their very best.
Her leadership was especially evident during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2019 F-16 aircraft crash at Spangdahlem Air Base, where she led with calm professionalism, composure, and mission-focused decision-making while always placing people first.
One of Dr. Smith’s greatest strengths is her ability to lead courageous conversations with empathy, honesty, and respect. She creates space for people to feel seen, heard, and challenged to grow.
As a Doctor of Health Sciences, accomplished executive leader, and former Medical Group Commander, Dr. Smith brings decades of real-world leadership experience to every stage. She does not simply deliver a keynote presentation; she creates an experience that inspires audiences to lead with courage, embrace change, and serve others with purpose.
I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Alisha Smith to any school, university, healthcare organization, corporation, or leadership conference seeking a keynote speaker who leads with authenticity, inspires with purpose, and equips others to become courageous leaders.

My Wingman, Squadron Commander, and Friend… 2016 is when you and I crossed paths. You were Lt Col Smith and my Commander, and I learned from you that leadership is understanding people and giving grace through mentorship.
Over the years, we laughed, learned, grew, changed, faced challenges, and formed an unstoppable team. Through it all, you brought out the best in those around you. You taught me to lead with humility, continue to put others first, and understand that not everyone is on the same journey — but everyone deserves to be led with purpose, patience, and grace.
When I was reassigned to Brooke Army Medical Center, I struggled with the pace and uncertainty of the transition. Then a random text from you reminded me, “You’ll find your stride and take off.” That encouragement stayed with me. It helped me move forward with confidence and reminded me that grace has the power to change how we see ourselves and how we respond to others.
You fused the concepts of understanding people and giving grace throughout your leadership and mentorship, especially during the back half of my career. You are an amazing leader and mentor, not just to me, but to everyone who has had the privilege of being guided by you.

Colonel (Ret.) Alisha Smith’s impact on my professional career and personal growth has been profound and long lasting. When we met in 2015, I did not make the best first impression, but she showed me grace, took the time to understand me, and invested in the leader she knew I could become.
Through her mentorship, she helped me recognize my potential, challenge the limitations I placed on myself, and learn how to use my voice in rooms where important decisions were being made. She taught me that leadership is not defined by rank alone, but by courage, competence, and the ability to communicate effectively.
What made her mentorship especially powerful was the way she led by example. Every day, she demonstrated integrity, humility, professionalism, and genuine care for people. Her belief in me often exceeded my belief in myself, and her guidance gave me the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and pursue opportunities that advanced my career.
Without question, Col Smith played a critical role in my development as an Air Force leader. Her mentorship, coaching, and unwavering support helped me find my voice, strengthen my confidence, and realize my potential was greater than I imagined. I am a better leader, mentor, and person because of her investment in me.

I credit Alisha Smith with unlocking some of the most meaningful leadership lessons of my entire career. Her mentorship led me through the discomfort of taking on higher levels of leadership than I had previously thought possible, ultimately preparing me for one of military healthcare’s pinnacle positions. Her influence stems from her profound ability to balance the analytical and the empathetic, and as a result, beneficiaries of her guidance can equally deliver organizational outcomes as well as shape tremendous organizational cultures.

Throughout our professional relationship, she has consistently challenged me to think bigger, lead more effectively, and approach obstacles with confidence and purpose. Her ability to listen, give honest feedback, and help people find practical solutions is something I haven’t found anywhere else. What makes Alisha exceptional is her ability to connect with people on a genuine level while pushing them to take real action. Whether she’s mentoring someone one-on-one or leading a team through a hard problem, she brings authenticity, hard-won experience, and a passion for helping others grow that’s impossible to miss. There are mentors who offer advice, and then there are visionary leaders who fundamentally alter the trajectory of your life and career. Dr. Alisha Smith is, without a question, the latter.
When Dr. Smith first hired me, she took a monumental chance on me, appointing me to my very first Squadron Command position. At the time, I had the drive, but it was her unmatched coaching that truly unlocked my potential. She didn't just manage; she invested. Her tailored guidance bolstered a deep, unshakeable confidence in my own capabilities and systematically mentored me to refine my leadership style and command presence.
Beyond day-to-day leadership, Dr. Smith was fiercely committed to my long-term upward mobility. She rolled up her sleeves to ensure my records and portfolio were meticulously prepared and positioned for the highly competitive Colonel’s Board. Thanks to her rigorous preparation and advocacy, I made Colonel—a milestone that paved the way for me to be selected for my absolute dream job immediately following.
In that follow-on role, the foundation she built allowed me to shatter barriers and make history three distinct times in that position. The national and global recognition that followed—including being featured in 'Unstoppable: The Rise of Female Global Leaders'—stands as a direct testament to the platform and opportunity Dr. Smith selflessly provided.
Dr. Smith gave me the arena to excel, the tools to lead, and the belief that I could change the landscape of our field. For her unwavering mentorship, her brilliant advocacy, and her life-altering coaching, I am forever grateful. If you have the privilege of working with or being coached by Dr. Smith, know that you are partnering with someone who does not just build leaders—she builds history-makers.
