For over 30 years, I’ve had the honor of knowing Alisha—since our earliest days together in the Air Force. Even back in the dorms, her leadership was unmistakable. She was the one who ensured everyone and everything was taken care of, long before she ever held a formal title. That natural ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and decisiveness propelled her quickly through the officer ranks. Throughout her 20+ year military career, Dr. Smith has mentored hundreds of service members—enlisted, officers, and civilians alike. Despite rising to the highest levels as a Retired Colonel, earning her PhD, contributing as an author, serving in organizations such as The Links, Incorporated, and now leading as VP of TRICARE West, she has never wavered in her commitment to people.
